A set of the 4 Chinese teacups $33.80, or a set 8 tea cups $63.60 This Chinese tea cup with infuser is made in Jing De Zhen (¾°µÂÕò), Jiang Xi province, China, the most famous city of Chinese ceramic / porcelain art and production. The style of the paint in the teacup is called "Qing Hua", meaning, blue paint on white background. Qing Hua is one of the well known art style of Jing De Zhen porcelain. Blue paint is drawn on the raw ceramic ware, covered by transparent glaze. Then, the tea cups are burned at 1200 C temperature. and become the finished porcelain products. The paint color will never fade.
The picture on this Chinese teacup is a typical paint of Chinese ceramics / porcelain art , called "Wu Tong" (ÎàÍ©). Literally, it's translated as a Chinese parasol tree. But, what it really mean is the name of a place which is also well known for Chinese porcelain manufacturing in Zhi Jiang Province. It would be an interesting question: why do Chinese teacups made in Jing De Zhen with its typical Qing Hua art style draw the typical picture referring another well known porcelain manufacturing place? No one knows at the moment. As a matter of fact, the origin of Qing Hua art style remains an acadamic issue. Archaeology found Qing Hua porcelain made over thousand years ago, not in Jing De Zhen though, but in Zhi Jiang. Some archaeologists suggest the Qing Hua porcelain of Jing De Zhen might be originated from Zhi Jiang.
